Quit Smoking! Start Vaping! ~ A Healthier Transition

How many of you smoke?  Be honest now!!!

2 pack a day Smokers...
1 pack a day Smokers...
1/2 pack a day Smokers...
Social Smokers....

Even the Closet Smokers...
    By that I mean.....
      the ones that never smoke:
  • around family
  • around work (or no one at work knows you smoke)
  • around certain friends
Why don't you smoke around certain people or places?
Because....

in a way, you feel ashamed of your closet habit!

Do you want to know why I know this? Because I was a closet smoker too!!!  I was so thankful for having friends who knew me for who I was and who accepted me for who I was! Because around those people I could just relax! No one to go...

"Oh, she smokes? She doesn't look like a smoker!"

I know I shouldn't care what people think about the things and choices I make in my life, but that's me...I can't help it sometimes! Some people found out along the way and didn't care, but I still hid it at times...

I quit a few times in the past, but went back for some reason or another...always thinking "Why did I pick those dang things up again?!?!"

Well....things change....you grow up....you figure out that you're sick of hiding that you smoke....sick of smelling like an ashtray....sick of feeling crappy....sick of smoking in general!

http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?B=483706&U=921028&M=47570&urllink=

Woohoo!!! What a great decision!!!

I'm here to tell you that I can help you along your way! Here at LifeDesigning1, we want to help you create a healthier you! So....

Here's what I did and it has been amazing in my experience! Results may vary! Everyone has heard of E-cigarettes! Well, have you ever heard of vaping? If you are a smoker then you probably have seen or even tried one of those disposable electronic cigarettes in hopes of kicking the smoking habit. You may have had a similar experience as I did and found that they were just not fulfilling enough and went right back to cigarettes. The little disposables were certainly on the right track but were just not there yet. I then discovered the ever advancing and technology driven world of vaping. With vaping, one can decide just how advanced you would like to get and what kind of a vaping experience you would like. You can choose from an endless selection of mods, tanks and flavors. Unlike using the old disposables, which were very limited in performance and selection, vaping allows you to remain very basic or move to very advanced.

I have quit smoking and transitioned to Vaping! I feel soooooo much better!!!!

Vaping: The process of using a battery powered device in order to heat and vaporize a liquid which can then be inhaled.

E-Juice: Liquid that is vaporized when using an e-cigarette like device. Also known as: E-Liquid, Juice, Nic-Juice

E-Juice commonly consists of 4 ingredients:

  1. Propylene Glycol (PG)
  2. Vegetable Glycerin (VG)
  3. Nicotine
  4. Food grade flavoring
All of these ingredients can be adjusted to personal taste, we recommend a reputable American E-Liquid Company. Many of the larger venders will adjust the level of each of the above ingredients to your personal preference when ordered. I have been enjoying a 100% or Max VG blend from Mt Baker Vapor.

I'm in love with Movie Theatre Fish lol. It's my ADV (All Day Vape)!

4.99 usa made e juice

Mod: The battery powered device chosen for vaping.

The Battery Powered device or "Mod" is just as diverse as the rest of the key elements in vaping. You can have a very small or a very large rechargeable device. A simple to use device or an advanced electronic wonder gadget. On some you are even able to regulate your own voltage or wattage. The options are never ending and new items are popping up almost daily. You can even select styles to suit your taste and personality.

Tank: The device that contains your heating coil, wicking system and e-juice when filled. Commonly these are plastic or glass and go by names like cartomizer or atomizer. This "tank" attaches to the battery or "Mod."

The tanks, as shown below, come in many different sizes. They can hold different amounts of juice and have different replaceable coil and wick systems. The very advanced vapers can even rebuild atomizers to truly gain the vaping experience they desire. The tank system you choose will be dictated by the flavor and amount of vapor you want.  Many of the tanks can be used and interchanged on many different Mods.

The above terms are ones that I will be using in order to educate you more on Vaping. ;)

I went with MigCig's Mig 21, I wanted a tank to be able to see my choice of Juice...but yet have a mod with the look of a cigarette. Still one of my faves by far!!!! I've moved up in my choice of mods since then, but always go back to my MigCig! The MigCig is a powerful little device that is just close enough to a cigarette for a beginner. It, through the refillable tank, allows the user to fill it with whatever kind of E-Liquid they would like. It made my transition from cigarettes far easier than I would have thought. I truly enjoy vaping not just for the better health aspects but I find it much more fun and less expensive then smoking. Please keep in mind that your results may vary. I do highly recommend the MigCig for anyone who wishes to try and quit smoking and begin vaping. Check out the link below if you are ready to make the change.

This post gives you my story so far and gives a general idea of vaping. I will have several more posts on this topic and give more details on specific items. Please post any questions or share your experiences in vaping...More from me later ;)

To Do Today: Eliminate the word "can't" from your vocabulary

Hi everyone,

Are you ready for some weekend relaxation or what? We are!!
Here's a little task we'd like you to try today....

Don't think or speak the word "can't".

We're going to explain why we want you to try this and how amazing this little contraction is...

Are you thinking of "better things" in life?
Are you holding yourself back in life?
How often do you use the phrase "I can't"?

Can't is a nasty, yet powerful little word. It gets in your system and tells your brain some ridiculous things!!

Can't is in the conscious part of your brain.

The conscious part of your brain makes lists, remembers to pick up milk and lock your door when you leave the house.

The conscious most certainly has its job to do.

But check this out...

an interesting thing is how your conscious and subconscious work together....

Your subconscious focuses on different things than your conscious.

It focuses on keeping you safe, reacting quickly, your dreams, solving big life problems, happy
thoughts, stored memories, fears, etc. etc.

Your subconscious also listens really well to your conscious.

Kind of like its servant.

If your subconscious hears "I can't"...

it goes about the rest of your head and body notifying your nerves, muscles so on and so forth

"hey guys! Conscious says we "can't" so warn everyone!"

So then....

Nerves go on alert, muscles get tight, stress seeps in, avoidance starts...

But wait one doggone second!! Just because you THOUGHT "hmmm, I can't do this," does it really mean you can't do it?
Um, NO!

You're at a decision point.
The point of taking action.
The point of "I want something better and this looks interesting but... Can I, or can't I do it?"

And here's your answer...
YOU CAN

Change that thought, feeling, nervousness or fear and take control over your own mind.

YOU CAN DO THIS!

Congratulations!

There's a reason you're reading this...
That's how you make any real change in life!

A baby step. One tiny thing, and you already did it!
You sought information to make a change!

We already know....
- you can do it.
- you can be successful.
- this is the best system out there.

We've seen it happen.
We see the results of those people who squashed their "I can't's"
We, at one time, did it too!

They didn't give up on their dreams!

So... spend the rest of your day, coming down from a crazy week...

Fighting those "can't's" with another baby step.

Tell your mind "I'M IN CONTROL!"
"I WANT a change and its time!"

The tools are here for you.
The support is here for you.
The team is here.

We're just waiting on you to fight back on "can't".
Make "can't" your enemy today.

Have an amazing day!
Do one thing for yourself today...
Don't think or speak the word can't.

See how long you can go!

The LifeDesigning1 Team

P.S. I have always taught and continue to teach Jackson that
"can't" is not part of our vocabulary! Actually, I taught that to many children
over the years! ~ Nik

We believe in you!

Foodies 101: A Favorite TV Show! A Favorite Candy Store!

Dolce Patisserie

Location: The Shoppes at 23 Main Street, Hellertown, Pennsylvania 484-851-3652

Did you know?

Right here in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania….

We have a "Sweet Genius!"

Click on Alan's picture for the rest of the gallery ;)

Foodie Bob read this in the paper recently:

Owner of Hellertown pastry shop wins 'Sweet Genius'

Alan Pitotti wins $10,000 on popular Food Network show.

January 18, 2013|By Diane W. Stoneback, Of The Morning Call

Pastry Chef Alan Pitotti, owner of Dolce Patisserie, was back at work in his Hellertown shop less than nine hours after his family, friends and customers watched him win $10,000 on the Food Network's "Sweet Genius."

Although the 36-year-old chef had just won the equivalent of a Super Bowl for pastry chefs, he already was focused on figuring out how to give his daredevil fans a chance to taste the cake that clinched his victory -- It was a meringue-covered, spicy pink peppercorn and wasabi pea cake, with spicy chocolate ganache…..

I was really excited about this announcement and it gave me a great excuse to visit Dolce Patisserie again to purchase some chocolates!

I so enjoy his "beautiful"…. and I do mean "beautiful" candy creations…. that are equally as delicious!

And…. Alan was there! Which is not a surprise…. he loves his work! :)

We had a wonderful chat about the competition and his wonderful experience with the show and host of "Sweet Genius," Ron Ben-Israel.

P.S.
I've postponed blogging about this due to Billboards in the Lehigh Valley not posting that Alan is a "Sweet Genius!"

They show him attending the local community college, but nothing about Sweet Genius!

So…..

the Billboards remain the same (to date, now early March, 2013)

and…
I wanted you to know…..

Congratulations! Alan Pitotti….. Sweet Genius!

from the LifeDesigning1 Team! :) So Proud!

LifeDesigning 1 Team Confesses….

Foodies 101!

LifeDesigning1 is Admitting:  WE ARE FOODIES!

There comes a time when one has to confess… and the time is now!

We are……. FOODIES!

We are……. foodies from way back!  It's actually generational!

My Grandparents (mom's) came to the United States from Austria, Hungary & Yugoslavia (specifically, in an area which is now Slovenia) with many wonderful hopes, dreams and passions!  The United States was a promise of opportunity, freedom… starting a new, abundant, prosperous life!

With them they brought many skills and talents… compassion, a strong work ethic, cooking, baking, farming…. and love!  The love of family, children, friends & community!

What we will venture into here is the extension of their passion --- ours now  --- for Food!

In the early 1900's, my grandparents were Growing and Nurturing their food, initially, on their farm and then, on small plots of land.

And….

They were Cooking and Baking It!  Surrounded by family, friends and community… they cooked and baked often and they did it with Passion and Love!

Being Foodies… we will be posting about our favorites here:

  • Our Favorite Foods
  • Recipes
  • Cookbooks
  • TV programs
  • Classes
  • Places we've explored, munched / dined at & purchase some of our favorite foods
  • And... of course, Restaurants!  Where we've dined and dine, some rather frequently!

This is our Adventure --- Food!  :)

Good Times Ahead!

A little example of what's to come ;)

Adventure Days ~ Camden Aquarium - Part 1 - Camden, New Jersey

ADVENTURE DAY!!!

Went to the CAMDEN AQUARIUM in New Jersey recently!

Soooo cool!

The Penguins…. outside...

Check out that penguin over there Pa!

This is so neat!

And, Inside….. they are funny!

It's so cool to watch them swim!

Then we entered…. the Stingray Beach Club area at the Camden Aquarium, New Jersey --

It's a Touch Exhibit!!  I can actually "touch" a stingray!

And…
Here's Pa telling me the right way to "touch" a big stingray!  Wow!

Check out the Stingrays Pa!

Look at the size of that one Gamma!

And…. Gamma!

Look at the size of them!  Pa told me we can go to places and actually swim with them!  Like in the Grand Cayman Islands (where Pa and Gamma went), Hawaii, Florida….
I'm going to have to do some research on that!  That would be a trip filled with Adventure Days for sure!

There was an area where there were smaller ones…. so neat!

So cool to be able touch all of these animals!

This Adventure Day to Camden Aquarium, New Jersey is --

To be continued…

As we venture on to the Sharks!

Joyful Journeying with Jackson!  :)

LYRICS:
A girl who is warm and humanle during the day
A classy girl who know how to enjoy the freedom of a cup of coffee
A girl whose heart gets hotter when night comes
A girl with that kind of twist
I'm a guy
A guy who is as warm as you during the day
A guy who one-shots his coffee before it even cools down
A guy whose heart bursts when night comes
That kind of guy
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Now let's go until the end
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh

True Christmas Joy and Blessings

This Christmas Season we at LifeDesigning1 are all reminded of the True Blessings we have in our lives! We attended Mass at our son's school today to celebrate Christmas Joy and Blessings as well as praying for those in the world affected by harm!

We watched our baby (Jackson - 6) walk in with his 8th grade buddy, decorate the Jesse Tree and sing for us. What a beautiful Mass! Probably one of my favorites ever! Jackson and his friends sang so strongly and proudly!

Here are some pictures from today at Mass!

Jackson waits for his 8th Grade buddy after decorating the Jesse Tree ;)

Singing with his friends and all of the 8th Grade buddies!

We've been spotted! He ran over to give hugs! He sang so well! We are so proud!

Mommy, Daddy and Jackson! <3 So Proud!
I spent time crying in Church as I thought of last week's events in Connecticut!

The priest explained that there were 26 candles lit in the Church to represent those who passed away at Sandy Hook. :'( Our hearts and prayers have been with them since it happened! We have added them to our prayers at night and Jackson's school prays for them daily as well!

Remember your True Christmas Joy and Blessings!

Take a moment to say an extra prayer for those at Sandy Hook or if you're not the praying type...at least give them a moment of silence.

I know it's a little blurry...but the small red candles that lead up to Jesus and those in the shape of a heart represent those at Sandy Hook :'( God Bless Them!

We took a moment after Church to light a candle, say a few prayers and Thank God for all of the Blessings in our lives! <3

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you this holiday season!

Thank you for reading our blog! <3

Burnt Rabbit Fur and St. Patrick's Cathedral ~ Adventure Days Part 4

As I told you before...
We had an amazing time in New York City for our Adventure Days!

I've got some more pictures to share: ;)

Jackson with is giant FAO Schwarz bag outside of the Apple Store!

Riding the escalator at Trump Plaza! Jackson loves escalators!
What to eat? What to eat? So many yummy choices at Trump!

Jackson's favorite was the carrot cake of course! LOL!

Yum!

Looking for fish in the Trump fountain! "No fish Gamma!"
The top of the Trump Plaza Christmas Tree! (2nd Floor)

More beautiful New York City decorations!

We saw Waverly Place!!! I was so excited! Wizards of Waverly Place is one of my Favs!!!

Jackson thought this was the best artwork at the New Museum! Watch the dogs carefully! It wasn't easy getting the video at night, but it is really cool! I wonder how many people actually notice these beautiful dogs!

If you know the story of Eloise at the Plaza by Kay Thompson (I used to teach Pre-K remember) then you definitely want to visit The Plaza Hotel! It was filled with Eloise things and even an entire Eloise store! Loved it! The pic of the Eloise books will take you to the Barnes and Noble site if you would like to check out more about Eloise.

Jackson and the Eloise at the Plaza sign!

I saved the best for last! One of my absolute favorite things from our Adventure Days in New York City was visiting The Plaza Hotel and seeing....SANTA!!!

Santa wasn't too busy, so he actually called Jackson over to him so they could talk! I loved it and Jackson was just thrilled! He felt so special to have Santa say he wanted to talk with him personally! Wow! Then Santa put us right in front of a group of 5 older girls so he could get his picture with Jackson 1st...the girls thought it was adorable and were very understanding! It's so nice to be in a world with such wonderful people!

Santa!!!!

I think someone was a little pooped after 2 wonderful days in New York City!

He was so excited to tell everyone about his Adventure Days in New York City! He told lots of people about Santa and also his Burnt Rabbit Fur story too! (Don't know the story? Check it out here!) That may be one he remembers for the rest of his life! LOL!

If you're planning on visiting New York City this Christmas...then definitely check out our posts about Our Adventure Days in New York City!

Burnt Rabbit Fur and St. Patrick's Cathedral - Adventure Days

We just got back from spending 2 spontaneous days in New York City!

:) A definite perk when working from home! :)

We talked about it and...
decided Wednesday night...
to drive into New York City on Thursday and Friday! ;)

Mom, Jackson and myself did some of the following on Day 1...

(These are only a few of the pictures we took on Day 1...
I will post more as soon as they get uploaded to the computer from Mom and my phones LOL ;) )

  • Shopping in Times Square...
  • Enjoying Rockefeller Center...
  • Riding a ferris wheel in the middle of Toys R Us...
  • Spending precious time in the gorgeous St. Patrick's Cathedral!
(Which might smell a little like burnt rabbit fur now...lol)

Riding the indoor Ferris Wheel in the middle of Toys R Us!

Jackson and I in the Toy Story car of the Toys R Us Ferris Wheel! We were pretty lucky...almost got a Barbie car LOL!

Take notice to the HAT!

This is Jackson's favorite HAT! Lined with Rabbit Fur!

Notice "No HAT" and candles in the background!

Yes, Jackson and I are standing in front of the Nativity Scene at St. Patrick's Cathedral with my heart pounding at this point...

Because....

This would be right after Mommy whipped that hat off of Jackson's head...he leaned to get a stick to light a candle and caught his left ear flap on FIRE just a little...

It was a tiny, yet very scary FIRE on my child's Rabbit Fur Hat that was still on his HEAD!!!

He leaned...
It caught FIRE...
And my hand closed that quickly around it!!!!

He was completely fine and didn't even realize what had happened until I had my hand by his head...

We took off the hat for a while after that...

The scent of burnt rabbit fur filled the air for some time in New York's St. Patrick's Cathedral...
My hand smelled of burnt rabbit fur as well...
Jackson smelled it full force from my hand and the edges of his burnt rabbit fur left ear flap of his hat....LOL

Oh the events that can occur while enjoying our Adventure Days together!!!
